SXSW has finally started to move back into the small venue, and intimate experiences that make Austin so special. The magical thing about this booming town in Texas is it's innate ability to create memorable experiences that bring fans closer to music. Side Label worked with Spotify to further expand on this point.
Through an algorithm, Spotify was able to identify which of their app users were listening to certain bands performing during SXSW the most and who happened to live in Austin. From there, they sent out inconspicuous RSVPs to the "Superfans" inviting them to certain shows with the ability to "skip the line". If you've been to SXSW, you know it's an extreme game of RSVPing and waiting in endless lines, so most fans were excited by this offer, but had no idea what was really in-store.
Side Label was able to use our extensive venue connections to allow private entrances to shows, set up VIP bar access complete with Brand Ambassador waitresses, and face-to-face meetings with "Superfans" favorite bands. This spanned across 9 venues, for 15 shows with 100 "Superfans" and amounted to countless memories.
Tears of joy, speechless moments, expectations shattered.
