SXSW 2017 meant the regression of mega-stage performances. 

 

SXSW has finally started to move back into the small venue, and intimate experiences that make Austin so special. The magical thing about this booming town in Texas is it's innate ability to create memorable experiences that bring fans closer to music. Side Label worked with Spotify to further expand on this point.
Through an algorithm, Spotify was able to identify which of their app users were listening to certain bands performing during SXSW the most and who happened to live in Austin. From there, they sent out inconspicuous RSVPs to the "Superfans" inviting them to certain shows with the ability to "skip the line". If you've been to SXSW, you know it's an extreme game of RSVPing and waiting in endless lines, so most fans were excited by this offer, but had no idea what was really in-store. 
Side Label was able to use our extensive  venue connections to allow private entrances to shows, set up VIP bar access complete with Brand Ambassador waitresses, and face-to-face meetings with "Superfans" favorite bands. This spanned across 9 venues, for 15 shows with 100 "Superfans" and amounted to countless memories. 
Tears of joy, speechless moments, expectations shattered.

Dos XX Summer of Challenges

Side Label hand curated an exclusive list of Austin tastemakers and asked them to join us for an "intimate pool party". The twist? To get to the actual pool party, they first had to jump out of an airplane! This was part of the Dos Equis "Summer of Challenges" campaign, during which we challenged people to step out of their comfort zones and become the Most Interesting version of themselves.

Dos De Mayo Celebration at Palazzo Lavaca in Austin, TX.

Dos Equis' response to Cinco De Mayo falling on a Monday was the creation of their own holiday, "Dos De Mayo". Side Label was tasked with creating an event that the Most Interesting Man himself would want to attend. Our exclusive guest list was stacked with Austin's  top  tastemakers, local celebrities and even the Grammy Award winning artist, Gary Clark Jr. Unsuspecting guests meandered through an inconspicuous alley , to find themselves standing at the steps of the beautiful hidden gem, Palazzo Lavaca. What ensued was a sensory overloud complete with Aztec dancers, bizarre foods and a plethora of photographers/photo booths to share the envy  inducing night with their social networks.
